An Evening with the Miami Valley Symphony
Experience the full grandeur of a live orchestral performance featuring Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and Dvořák's New World Symphony.
The Arbogast Performing Arts Center is honored to welcome Dr. Mae C. Jemison — astronaut, physician, engineer, and the first African American woman to travel in space — for a special evening of conversation and inspiration.
Dr. Jemison will share stories from her remarkable career, from her groundbreaking 1992 Space Shuttle Endeavour mission to her current work leading the 100 Year Starship initiative, an effort to ensure the capabilities for human interstellar travel within the next century. She'll discuss the critical connections between science, art, and social responsibility, and why diversity in STEM fields matters more than ever.
The evening includes a moderated conversation followed by an audience Q&A session. A book signing will follow in the Grand Lobby, with copies of Dr. Jemison's books available for purchase.
This event is part of APAC's Distinguished Speakers Series, generously supported by the Troy Foundation.
