Our Story

About the APAC

A community treasure in the heart of Troy, Ohio — dedicated to the transformative power of live performance.

Our Mission

Creating Community

The Arbogast Performing Arts Center was founded with a simple but powerful belief: that every community deserves access to world-class performing arts. Located in the heart of downtown Troy, APAC has become the cultural anchor of the Miami Valley region — a place where neighbors gather, stories come alive, and the arts flourish.

What began as a grassroots effort by local arts advocates and civic leaders has grown into an 1,200-seat, state-of-the-art venue that hosts over 40 events each year. From nationally touring musicians and Broadway-caliber theater to community dance recitals, comedy nights, and educational programs, APAC serves audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Our mission is to create community in Troy and the surrounding Miami Valley through exceptional live performances, arts education, and community engagement. We believe that the performing arts have the power to inspire, connect, and transform — and we're committed to making that experience accessible to everyone.

Our History

A Stage for the Community

The story of the APAC begins in the early 2010s, when a group of Troy residents and business leaders recognized a gap in the region's cultural landscape. While the Miami Valley had long been home to talented artists and passionate music lovers, there was no dedicated venue between Dayton and Sidney.

Through a remarkable campaign that united local businesses, philanthropists, civic organizations, and hundreds of individual donors, the vision for a world-class performing arts center in Troy became a reality. The Arbogast family's transformative lead gift — the largest private contribution to the arts in Miami County history — provided the foundation that made it all possible.

After years of planning, fundraising, and construction, the Arbogast Performing Arts Center officially opened in late 2021. Built from the ground up, the venue was designed to offer a premier music experience, pairing striking modern design with state-of-the-art acoustics, lighting, and staging technology

In the Community

Community Outreach

APAC is more than a stage — we are an active partner in our community providing accessibility and impactful performances.

Accessible Performances

Arts are for everyone. Our Pay-It-Forward program and local partnerships work to eliminate cost and accessibility barriers for our community.

Community Events

Our community events feature movie nights and local performers — supported by the generosity of hometown corporate partners and organizations.

Education Partnerships

By partnering with local schools and nonprofit organizations we bridge the gap between the classroom and the stage.
