Our Mission
Bringing the Arts Home
The Arbogast Performing Arts Center was founded with a simple but powerful belief: that every community deserves access to world-class performing arts. Located in the heart of downtown Troy, APAC has become the cultural anchor of the Miami Valley region — a place where neighbors gather, stories come alive, and the arts flourish.
What began as a grassroots effort by local arts advocates and civic leaders has grown into an 800-seat, state-of-the-art venue that hosts over 42 performances each year. From nationally touring musicians and Broadway-caliber theater to community dance recitals, comedy nights, and educational programs, APAC serves audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Our mission is to enrich the cultural life of Troy and the surrounding Miami Valley through exceptional live performances, arts education, and community engagement. We believe that the performing arts have the power to inspire, connect, and transform — and we're committed to making that experience accessible to everyone.

A Stage for the Community
The story of APAC begins in the early 2010s, when a group of Troy residents and business leaders recognized a gap in the region's cultural landscape. While the Miami Valley had long been home to talented artists and passionate arts lovers, there was no dedicated performing arts venue between Dayton and Sidney.
Through a remarkable campaign that united local businesses, philanthropists, civic organizations, and hundreds of individual donors, the vision for a world-class performing arts center in downtown Troy became a reality. The Arbogast family's transformative lead gift — the largest private contribution to the arts in Miami County history — provided the foundation that made it all possible.
After years of planning, fundraising, and meticulous restoration of a historic downtown building, the Arbogast Performing Arts Center opened its doors in 2019. The venue combines the charm and character of its early 20th-century architecture with cutting-edge acoustics, lighting, and staging technology.
Today, APAC is more than a venue — it's a gathering place, a classroom, a launchpad for emerging artists, and a source of pride for the entire community. And the best is yet to come.
